Tobu Museum foundation 10030 series Simulator

Full scale simulator, renewed in October of 2023. First installed in 2009, it was given a full software update and Tojo line’s T-DATC signalling system was added. The video footage was taken anew and now visitors can thoroughly experience the Skytree line, Tojo line, Isesaki line, Sano line for almost 30 minutes.
It comprises of two different stages, the “examination stage” and the “premium stage”; during the examination stage, the visitor will be evaluated based on the same parameters a real train driver would, and given a numerical score. Depending on the final score, there are 4 different qualification levels given and the screen will present each visitor with their own personal license, including a picture. After earning a qualification, and depending on its level, the premium stage will become available for up to 7 different scenarios to choose from, and more sections to drive on.
During the renovation, the hardware and gauge panels were replaced with real parts from the Tojo line, and computers and screens were all renewed. It is also possible to charge a usage fee thanks to the newly installed coin vendor.
This large-scale simulator was designed for use in a museum. The 202-inch screen—the largest ever used in a railway museum—and speakers enhance the realism of the experience. Users can switch between four different Tobu Railway line simulations as desired. Operational since July 2009.
All images of the simulators in operation have been included with permission from the pertinent entities.
