Training Simulators

East Japan Railway Company Shinkansen/conventional line dual use simulator for drivers and conductors’ coordinated training

Based on our conventional line simulators, it was created for the Tohoku, Joetsu, Hokuriku, Yamagata, Akita Shinkansen lines and it provides both coordinated and single training for drivers and conductors. Like the pre-existing models, it allows for driver and conductor separate and coordinated training. Thanks to a special mechanism, it is possible to switch the master controller console so that it can be used not only for the Shinkansen but for conventional trains too. Furthermore, the equipment that includes the switch board is placed at the instructor’s desk, so that like in a real-life scenario the driver has to leave their position and ascertain the cause of the problem during emergency response training.
For the frontal view of the driver we used high resolution footage, while the conductor’s side views and ITV displays are fully CGI. We reproduced the scenery faithfully, so that it is no different from using real footage. In March 2020 we completed the delivery in all the East Japan Railways Shinkansen Crew offices.
