Training Simulators

East Japan Railway Culture Foundation - The Railway Museum D51 Steam engine simulator
(Commissioned by Total Media Development Institute Co.,Ltd.)

It covers the Kamaishi line between Hanamaki and Iwate-Kamigo station. Reproducing the operation of a wide range of equipment only found in a SL train locomotive, this is the first ever full-fledged steam locomotive simulator in Japan. It can be operated by two people at once (a driver and a stoker) and features two 150-inch screens. Besides the distinctive driving mechanisms, thanks to the motion system it reproduces the oscillation typical of a steam locomotive, offering a realistic train simulation experience unlike any other. Operational since October 2007.
